Hula dancers come in all ages.

Yes ladies, there are men hula dancers also. These two guys did a rather
"sexual" dance that had the women cheering. The lyrics were suggestive
and the dance even more so. The women loved it !!

Here's the very young hula "trainees" showing a hula dance using string.
I remember doing this string design as a child myself.

Here's a Hula show in front of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel and Shopping Center
along Kalakaua Avenue. It also started around 6:30 pm and these photographs
were taken on Tuesday May 1, 2001. He's lighting the torches to start the festivities.

I still haven't developed all of my photographs from this trip. I'll insert here a photograph
of the beautiful waterfall that is right beside this torch lighter in front of the Royal Hawaiian.

Another male dancer with the band in the background. It was raining lightly by
the time we got back to this show from the Hawaiian Market.

You can see the waterfall behind the band that is in front of the Royal Hawaiian.

She smiled all the time and was very pretty too.
The most beautiful
women (and girls, according to Rich) are in Hawaii !!!!

I also saw a totally different hula show when I ate a late evening dinner at the
Outrigger Reef hotel. I didn't have my video or 35mm cameras with me and I
really wish I had. It was a very fast paced show with several different "instruments"
being used by the woman dancer.

Here I am in the Honolulu Airport on Thursday April 26, 2001 waiting for
xbxrx's flight by the baggage claim area. The sign is written in Hawaiian welcoming xbxrx
to Hawaii (except for Devin's name which I couldn't find in Hawaiian).
I even have a coconut shell bra on, but I kept my shirt on even though Rich wanted me to
take it off. You can see the coconut shells under the lei. I did a little dance as I held up
the sign while the band approached the baggage claim area. Devin smiled and gave me
a hug, Michael smiled too but Chris, Steve and Blakely walked as far around me as possible.
Steve dared me to wear a grass skirt when I welcomed them at the airport, so I did. He
called his mom after they arrived in the airport and told his her about it, so I guess it was worth it.
Rich took the photograph for me and I had the video filming from the tripod.

Me again for another shot.
