I took this photograph during Labor Day weekend on Sunday September 6, 1998.
Me and my son son Rich, along with a friend of his Neil, visited this lighthouse on a
day when we also visited Haig Point Rear Range Lighthouse, Harbor Town Lighthouse,
and Morris Island Lighthouse. This is a very tall lighthouse and the climb up to the lantern
room was exhausting. The last photograph is looking up through the stairs and the second
photograph is from the beach area. I really like the shot with the fence since it gives it an
interesting perspective. The beach in this absolutely beautify place was a nice side attraction
for us.

Information about the Hunting Island Lighthouse:

It is located about 16 miles east of Beaufort, South Carolina on US Hwy 21.
It is in a very large park that is a very secluded barrier island. The park is simply beautify
and by itself would be well worth a visit.
Park hours: April - Sept (daily) 6:00am to 9:00 pm
Oct - March (daily) 6:00am to 6:00 pm
