Manoa Falls and Rainforest

Photos by Chris and Steve Touchton

The biggest mistake I made while on the island of O'ahu was not going to
Manoa Waterfall. It was about only 10 minutes from Waikiki and I even had
a printout from the O'ahu Internet site AND I STILL NEVER PAID IT MUCH
ATTENTION. I don't know why we never went, other than we were so busy that
I simply over looked this. I was so intent on visiting certain sites that I completely
over looked a free, natural rainforest and waterfall. What a dope!

Manoa Falls is a spectacular site as it tumbles down a near vertical cliff of about 150 feet
or so into a small pool below. It's an easy hike to the site through a rainforest and bamboo at
the base of the Ko'olau Mountains.

Here's some photographs that Chris took. Waterfall, rainforest and bamboo.
I'll never get over not going there. Good photos by Chris!!

Lord the beauty of your world......
An awesome site and photograph!

If I ever go back to O'ahu (and I'm sure I will soon because I fell in love with the place)
then I'm spending more time surfing and on the North Shore, and I'm going to Manoa Falls,
Waimea Falls, the Ancient Sites and the Pali.

Photos by Steve coming soon!!

Directions:
From Waikiki take McCully Street out of Waikiki towards the mountains and turn right onto
Kapiolani Blvd and then turn left onto University and go through the University of Hawaii campus.
Turn right onto Manoa Road and it dead ends at the head of the trail.
