I took these photographs on June 18, 2000 while we were also visiting the
Pigeon
Point Lighthouse. We also came back during the evening on June 20, 2000 for
a
night time view of the lighthouse. I got just a few minutes of video that
night until we
were asked to leave since we were not Hostel guests. I was unable to take
any night
photographs. When we came by on June 18 we were running out of daylight because
we had spent so much time at Pigeon Point. We did go down to the water below
about
a 40 foot cliff at Point Montara and checked out the beach and water area
for a while.
My son called this little lighthouse "a stumpy one", which is a
good description because it
is the smallest one I had ever seen up to that point (Fort Point Lighthouse
is smaller).
The first photograph above I tried to catch some of the wave action below
the 40 foot
high cliffs. This was a nice visit and I wished we had made plans to stay
at the Hostel so
we could experience the sunset and sunrise at the lighthouse.
